We are currently looking for a hands-on Bioprocess Manufacturing Engineer with extensive experience in large-scale GMP manufacturing to support the commercial production of biologics at leading pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in Switzerland.
This position focuses exclusively on commercial manufacturing (USP/DSP) and does not involve research or early-stage process development.
Your main missions are:
- Supporting and overseeing large-scale GMP manufacturing (USP/DSP) in a commercial production environment
- Ensuring reliable batch execution at scales of 2,000–20,000 L or comparable production volumes
- Acting as the on-site point of contact for real-time troubleshooting of process and equipment issues
- Leading deviation investigations, root cause analyses and the implementation of CAPA measures
- Reviewing batch records and ensuring GMP compliance
- Supporting validation activities, including Process Performance Qualification (PPQ), process validation and cleaning validation
- Working closely with Production, QA, MSAT, Engineering and Maintenance
- Training production personnel and supporting audits and inspections
This job is made for you if...
- A Master’s degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a comparable discipline
- At least 3–5 years of experience in GMP-compliant commercial manufacturing of biologics
- Proven hands-on experience in large-scale mammalian cell culture manufacturing (USP) and/or downstream processing (DSP)
- In-depth knowledge of industrial production equipment, including bioreactors, chromatography systems, filtration systems and CIP/SIP processes
- Experience managing deviations in a manufacturing environment
- A strong interest in hands-on work directly on the production floor within a dynamic GMP environment
- Fluent written and spoken German and English
