We are currently looking for a hands-on Process Engineer / Project Engineer with experience in process and plant engineering to support challenging industrial projects in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries in Switzerland.
Depending on the project, you will be involved in the planning, design, optimization and commissioning of process plants, ranging from commercial GMP manufacturing of biologics and pharmaceutical products to chemical production facilities with enhanced explosion protection requirements (ATEX).
Your main missions are:
As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in the various phases of plant design, production handover and manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting feasibility studies and contributing to Concept Design, Basic Design and Detailed Design for process plants and manufacturing processes
- Preparing and reviewing User Requirement Specifications (URS), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Planning and supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), P&ID walk-downs, and commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities
- Supporting the implementation of and compliance with GMP requirements in pharmaceutical and biotechnological manufacturing
- Taking ATEX requirements and explosion protection measures into account when planning and implementing chemical production facilities
- Contributing to the design and optimization of process plants, taking safety, quality, efficiency and regulatory requirements into consideration
- Coordinating and managing external contractors, monitoring deliverables, costs and project schedules
- Organizing meetings and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including QA, MSAT, Engineering, Production, Process Engineering and EHS
- Preparing and reviewing technical specifications and tender documents for the procurement of plant systems and equipment
- Supporting technical documentation, commissioning and the handover of plants to production
This job is made for you if...
- You hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering or a comparable discipline
- You have experience in process and plant engineering, plant construction and/or the manufacturing, commissioning and qualification of industrial production facilities
- You have a good understanding of GMP and/or experience with ATEX, explosion protection and the relevant safety requirements in the chemical industry
- You understand process engineering principles, plant layouts, process flow diagrams and technical specifications
- You have experience working with interdisciplinary project teams and external service providers
- You are willing to work in an international environment and across different client projects
- You have very good written and spoken German and English skills
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are independent, structured and hands-on in your approach, with a flexible mindset and strong teamwork skills
